My latest and improved version of the heavy mongol warrior.
I've modified the lamellar on the shoulders, changed a few lacing systems for sturdier ones in rawhide. I also have a better gambeson underneath, and the belt attachment system has improved: I now use the hook system which was probably used by Mongols and Saracens.

And of course, you will probably have noticed my new helmet, with its face mask in the "tartar fashion" mentioned by russian archeologists such as M.V. Gorelik.

The face mask is detachable, I can also lift it up. It's not too difficult to breathe in it, the lower opening letting in enough air, and visibility is pretty good for an integral helm.

that is some kickass armor, although the helmet looks a little off, I havent seen many recreations of mongol armor that uses a face-protector but otherwise looks very well made, whoever made that armor was fricking beast =D

Well, if you want to know, the smith who made the helmet is Marcos Vinuesa, who made it according to my demands... He plans to make more face-masks, but mainly roman parade helmets...
The helmet does look off, but russian archeologists do consider these to be a "tartar fashion", as in, something more or less common in the steppe. From what I know, such visors have been used amongst Kipchaks, Mongols, later "Tatars", Arabs and Persians, and Kwharesmians/Khorasanis.
